Grand Cayman Ground Transportation

Planning your Grand Cayman transportation ahead of time is important since the car rental companies tend to run out of cars during the winter, which is the busy time.  Renting a car is the best way to see all this magnificent island has to offer at your own pace, but there is a bus service and taxis if you prefer.  To help you plan your means of getting around Grand Cayman, here are the options for ground transportation.

Transportation on Grand Cayman Island:  Buses, Taxis, and Car Rentals.

Grand Cayman Bus Service
Public bus in Grand Cayman runs from one end of the island to the other, though a little inconsistently.  Stops are not always scheduled and the schedule is more of a suggested time than one to set your watch by.  The rates are great; fares can run as low as $1.50 to $3, depending on how far you are traveling.

Grand Cayman Taxi Service
There are always taxis at Grand Cayman Airport and often at larger resorts and around the busier parts of the island.  If there isn’t one in sight, you or your hotel concierge can call one and they will pick you up wherever you are.  If you are planning on using the taxi service in Grand Cayman as you only mode of transportation, it can get quite expensive, but it is a quick and easy way to get around.

Grand Cayman Car Rentals
There are plenty of Grand Cayman rental cars to choose from, whether you choose to get yours right at the airport or wait until you are in town.  View a full list of Grand Cayman car rental companies and information on driving in Grand Cayman.
